Moulin Scalagrand offers five rooms and a holiday home, each carefully renovated to preserve the original charm and authenticity of the historic mill.

Your host, Frederique, has personally worked on them with an admirable do-it-yourself approach and great attention to detail. Both rustic and modern touches offer an inspiring and pleasant atmosphere. All rooms are provided with linen and towels, as well as homemade soaps and shampoo. Guests are kindly requested to use these homemade products in order to reduce the pollution of the sewage system and protect its bacterial balance.

A healthy and tasty breakfast is included in the price of each room, made up of a variety of organic and local products. You can also taste some of the fruit and vegetables grown on the farm, homemade jams and honey, and much more. Breakfast is served in the beautiful communal kitchen or alternatively outside in the garden or on the riverbank under the wooden veranda. Please let us know a day in advance if you'd like to dine at the mill. For a small fee, Frederique will prepare a delicious vegan meal using ingredients fresh from the garden.

Each room is named after a bird that lives in the area around the mill, and you can recognise them by the paintings on the door of each room. Chances are you will also see them outside. Furthermore all the rooms have access to the gardens, the natural pond, the vegetable garden, the food forest and the entire grounds of the Moulin.

During retreats, residencies and other gatherings, you will stay in one of the Moulin's authentic rooms. It's also possible to book a stay at the Moulin outside of these events.

The Owl

Spacious double room with private bathroom (first floor)  

The Owl room is a large and inviting double room, perfect for those seeking comfort and privacy. With a plush double bed, this room offers the added luxury of a private bathroom, complete with a walk-in shower, toilet, and washbasin. You’ll also have access to a shared, fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare meals or enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. The joint sitting area is ideal for unwinding after a day of exploring. Free Wi-Fi ensures you can stay connected, and if you're traveling with children, an additional bed can be arranged upon request.

The Magpies

Cozy double room with shared facilities (ground floor)

Located on the ground floor, the Magpies room features a spacious double bed. Although the bathroom is shared, it boasts modern amenities including a walk-in shower, two sinks, and essential toiletries like soap and a hairdryer. A separate toilet is also available for convenience. Like all our rooms, you’ll have access to the shared kitchen and sitting area, making it easy to enjoy your morning coffee or prepare a simple meal. Free Wi-Fi keeps you connected, and for families, an additional bed for children can be set up upon request. 

Price: €75 per night

The Kingfisher

Comfortable double room with shared bathroom (first floor) 

The Kingfisher room offers a cozy retreat with a double bed and its own private washbasin. The bathroom is shared, featuring a walk-in shower, two sinks, and essential toiletries such as a hairdryer and soap. A separate toilet is also available. As with all rooms, guests can make use of the fully equipped shared kitchen and the joint sitting area, perfect for relaxing with a cup of tea or enjoying a meal. Wi-Fi is included to make your stay even more comfortable.

The Golden Oriole

The Golden Oriole room offers two comfortable single beds, ideal for friends or siblings traveling together. The shared bathroom is modern and includes a walk-in shower, two washbasins, a hairdryer, and soap. A separate toilet ensures privacy for all guests. As with all our rooms, the Golden Oriole provides access to the shared kitchen and sitting area, where you can prepare meals or simply relax. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

The Woodpecker

The Woodpecker room offers one single bed, ideal for singles traveling alone. The shared bathroom is modern and includes a walk-in shower, two washbasins, a hairdryer, and soap. A separate toilet ensures privacy for all guests. As with all our rooms, the Woodpecker provides access to the shared kitchen and sitting area, where you can prepare meals or simply relax. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

The Sparrow

A cozy family holiday home for up to 7 guests (ground and first floor)

The Sparrow holiday home is a spacious and comfortable retreat for families or groups of up to 7 guests, set amidst the serene surroundings of the Moulin. It features two bedrooms: a ground-floor room with four single beds and a washbasin, and a double room on the first floor with a private bathroom, sitting area, and the option to add an extra single bed. The large living room, centered around a cozy open fireplace, includes a dining table for up to 10 guests and a comfortable seating area. The fully equipped kitchen has a fridge, dishwasher, oven, microwave, and toaster, and there’s also a shared toilet on the ground floor as well as a laundry room with a washing machine.

Price: €175 per night

Note: The home requires a minimum stay of 7 nights in July and August
