Permaculture principle 1. Observe and interact
This principle is the foundation of permaculture and invites us to slow down and truly observe the ecosystem around us. Before we design our project, we take time to understand the landscape β how water flows, how plants and trees grow together, how animals, insects, and microorganisms each play their part in creating a balanced ecosystem.
Through careful observation, we learn how to work with nature instead of against it. Every piece of land has its own rhythm and wisdom. By connecting deeply with these natural patterns, we can create gardens, homes, and communities that are resilient, abundant, and in harmony with the environment.
This mindful approach is at the heart of sustainable living and everything we pass on during our permaculture retreats at Moulin Scalagrand. Itβs here that we invite you to experience how observation, connection, and thoughtful interaction with nature can inspire a more conscious and regenerative way of life.
